A Modern Coastal Escape in Newport Beach

Coastal Canyon feels like a modern retreat set gently into the California hills: airy yet grounded, refined yet relaxed. The home is a blend of coastal ease with thoughtful detail for a design that breathes, moves, and welcomes.

01 Entry

Soft natural light, a palette of whites, sand-tones and gentle grays, and layers of texture define a space that’s polished but never precious; timeless but deeply livable

02 Living Room

Stepping into the living room of Coastal Canyon, you meet a space that balances laid-back California comfort with refined coastal restraint. Light floods in through generous windows, bouncing off white-washed walls and soft neutral finishes. A clean-lined sectional anchors the room layered with natural-toned pillows and throws, offering casual comfort without clutter. With arched built-ins on either side of the mantel, the living room is equally cozy as it is architectural. The overall vibe is calm and grounded: an inviting great room where family life, casual lounging, or intimate evenings feel equally at home.

03 Kitchen + Dining

The kitchen and dining area reflect a thoughtful simplicity: cabinetry and finishes echo the rest of the home’s coastal palette, creating a sense of cohesion and ease. Clean surfaces, understated hardware, and a restrained material selection make the kitchen feel fresh and functional. Nearby, the dining zone brings casual elegance: a wood table and slipcovered seating invite family meals, dinner with friends, or morning coffee bathed in soft California light. This space isn’t just about cooking — it’s where daily rhythms unfold, where function meets calm, and where the home’s heart quietly pulses

04 Primary Suite

The primary suite in Coastal Canyon reads like a calm, restorative retreat. Quietly elegant and softly textured. A wrought iron canopy bed accentuates the tall ceilings, creating an airy and open feeling. Adjacent to the sleeping area, a sitting room anchors the space. With a dark panelled ceiling and surrounding windows, this nook feels like a tucked away secret garden—the perfect place to rest and reflect. Neutral linens, natural-fiber rugs, and light-toned woods create a serene backdrop, while thoughtful touches — from woven accents to simple bedside lighting — bring warmth and subtle character. Light streams through ample windows, enhancing the airy, relaxed sense of the space.

05 Secondary Bedrooms

With two young girls, the kids rooms are sweetly designed with whimsical elements and feminine touches. A statement feature of the home is the playroom with arched doors, a focal wall, and built-in bench seat. This is a space the kids can enjoy completely, tucked away in their own world.

06 Outdoors

What makes Coastal Canyon especially inviting is its seamless indoor-outdoor sensibility — a subtle but powerful architectural flourish that invites the outside in. The layout is deliberate: living areas flow into transitional zones that open naturally to exterior spaces, allowing light, air, and daily life to drift easily between in and out. For a family home like this, those transitions feel intentional — designed to support real life: backyard barbecues, lazy weekends, children and pets, quiet mornings. It’s a home built for living, not just looking.

The property is set in the hills along the coast of Newport Beach, and as such has an expanse of land that allows for flexible entertaining outdoors. There are the dining and lounge areas, the pool, and scenic view points, all of which were designed to feel like comfortable extensions of the home.
