The Shady Canyon Project is a study in quiet elegance — a reimagined Mediterranean home softened through natural materials, sculptural architecture, and a palette that prizes serenity over spectacle. Architectural arches, plaster accents, and warm tonal layering shape a narrative that feels timeless yet deeply modern. Every room carries its own character while remaining part of a cohesive, sun-washed whole.
01 Entry
The entryway is the first brushstroke in the home’s composition: a space defined by its graceful arches, soft plaster walls, and a natural palette that feels instantly grounding. Light drifts in and settles across the textured surfaces, highlighting the curves and shadows that give the foyer its architectural soul. It’s a simple, sculptural welcome.
02 Living Room
The great room becomes the emotional center of the home. Light pours in through expansive windows and doorways, illuminating a palette of soft neutrals and layered linens. Furnishings are substantial yet gentle, creating a sense of ease that invites lingering. The fireplace, with its handcrafted plaster finish, anchors the space and reinforces the home’s sculptural identity.
03 Kitchen
The kitchen carries the same understated luxury seen throughout the home. Clean cabinetry, softly veined stone, and warm wood accents create a space that feels both timeless and highly functional. With a statement-making range and hood, the kitchen balances striking visuals with easy function. It opens seamlessly into casual dining, where a simple yet beautifully proportioned table invites morning rituals and everyday connection. The tones remain consistent — earthy, textural, and welcoming — reflecting a home designed to be lived in, not merely admired.
04 Bonus Spaces
The hallways and connecting spaces become architectural moments in their own right. Arches frame each transition, offering glimpses of light and shadow that animate the plaster walls. These passages are intentionally quiet with minimal furnishing, tonal consistency, and clean curvature, allowing the architecture to breathe. Movement through the home feels natural, fluid, and peaceful, as though the house itself guides you gently from room to room.
05 Primary Suite
The primary bedroom distills the home’s entire ethos into a single space: neutral, layered, and deeply soothing. Soft linens, muted textiles, and natural textures create an atmosphere of retreat. There is an intentional spareness here — nothing extraneous, nothing loud — only materials and forms that contribute to restfulness.
In the primary bath, stone and plaster work in harmony to create a spa-like refuge. A curved soaking tub with a classic silhouette stars front and center, with double vanities flanking the entry. Across all the elements, a soft, neutral palette emphasizes the beauty of natural materials. With a large window, light plays delicately across the surfaces, enhancing the sense of stillness. This is a room defined not by extravagance but by purity of design, crafted for healing and restoration.
06 Guest Rooms
Secondary bedrooms continue the home’s calm material language while allowing each space to express its own personality. Layered textiles, inviting beds, and natural tones ground the rooms in warmth. The furnishings feel thoughtful and approachable, blending comfort with sophisticated restraint. These bedrooms offer private sanctuaries that echo the overarching tranquility of the home while giving each occupant a space that feels personal, polished, and welcoming.
07 Outdoors
Stepping outside, the home opens to courtyards and garden-adjacent spaces that feel like natural extensions of the interior. Warm-toned stone, soft textiles, and Mediterranean landscaping blend seamlessly with the architecture. Furnishings remain airy and tonal, allowing the landscape and the home’s sculptural lines to take center stage. It’s an exterior designed for slow mornings, lingering meals, and evening light — a true expression of California-Mediterranean living.
