A Relaxed Family Home in North Tustin

Set in the serene hills of North Tustin, this residence breathes a relaxed but sophisticated rhythm — a home where coastal calm meets everyday livability.

01 Entry

The home of a young family of six, this project is a study in both function and aesthetics, finding balance between the two with clean lines and layered neutrals, natural textures, generous light, and just enough curated warmth to make every room feel lived‑in and loved.

02 Kitchen

The center of the home, the kitchen is an eye-catching shade of navy, full of texture and a coastal‑quiet elegance. Abundant cabinetry, uncomplicated hardware, and natural finishes echo the home’s overall mood: calm, refined, and effortless, and statement, hand-painted tile outfits the backsplash behind the range. A mix of open and glass-front cabinets offer opportunity for functional styling, and customizations like a desk, appliance garage, and pantry make this kitchen a workhorse for this large family.

03 Living Room

Bathed in soft, natural light from the oversized windows and skylights, the living room welcomes with layered neutrals and understated furnishings. A large sectional and pair of armchairs anchors the space with a large mantle and symmetrical built-ins across the front seating area. Carefully curated decor is styled through the shelves— art, plants, and unique accents keep the vibe elevated yet approachable. Instead of a traditional coffee table, a large upholstered ottoman is used; the perfect choice for this young family with its soft edges and flexibility as additional seating.

04 Primary Suite

The primary suite sits alone on one side of the house—a designated retreat where rest and relaxation is paramount. A grasscloth wallpaper grounds the room in texture, and the adjoining bathroom is spa-like with separate vanities, bathing nook, and built-in cabinetry. The freestanding tub has a black enamel finish that brings a high-contrast look to the design, and another hand-painted tile can be found in the vanities and shelving nooks for a pop of detail and dimension.

05 Kid Rooms

The kid’s bedrooms in the North Tustin home each follow the same design philosophy: classic design with playful elements, able to grow with the kids as they mature. From a sweet nursery and pretty-in-pink little girl’s room, to a bold surf-inspired jack and jill bath between two classically cool boy’s rooms, the children occupy a side of the house in a floorplan that offers connected living.
